  : Este trabajo explora las posibilidades del uso de las representaciones artísticas para el aprendizaje de la Historia Económica y Social de la Europa preindustrial. Partiendo de la experiencia docente de los autores, se presentan cinco temas de distinta amplitud que son tratados a partir de varias obras de arte. Obviamente, el empleo de estos materiales no excluye el uso de otros. En cada exposición se pone de relieve, cómo ciertos problemas históricos son fácilmente aprehensibles desde la observación de la obra de arte. Por sus valores estéticos, por la alusión a obras bien conocidas, o por simple curiosidad, es probable que el discente sienta más interés por la materia y los temas abordados que si se sirve de materiales convencionales. Su aprovechamiento será, por tanto, mucho mayor.

  This paper explores the possibilities of using artistic representations to learn about the Economic and Social History of pre-industrial Europe. Based on the teaching experience of the authors, five themes of different amplitude are presented and dealt with from various works of art. Obviously, the use of these materials does not exclude the use of others. In each of them, it is highlighted how certain historical problems are easily understandable from the observation of the work of art. Due to its aesthetic values, the allusion to well-known works, or simply because of curiosity, it is likely that the student will be more interested in the subject matter and the topics covered than if he or she uses conventional materials. Their academic performance will, therefore, be much higher
