Resumen de Construcciones discursivas y préstamos integrales connotativos en un corpus de guías de viaje sobre españa

A partir de un corpus de guías de viaje sobre España en inglés y sus traducciones/adaptaciones al italiano y al español, investigamos a nivel cualitativo algunos aspectos de la representación que brindan del destino turístico. Desde la perspectiva del Análisis Crítico del Género (Bhatia, 2004; 2012; 2015), reflexionamos sobre la relación entre patrones culturales, discurso sobre la lengua y uso de la lengua. En los casos analizados ponemos de manifiesto cómo, aunque en diferentes grados, las construcciones discursivas sobre España traen consigo concepciones previas y estereotipadas de lo hispánico y algunas elecciones léxicas exotizantes (los préstamos connotativos no integrados) en las versiones en italiano y en inglés a menudo no hacen sino reforzar una imagen conservadora y domesticada del destino turístico.

In this article a qualitative analysis is carried on the representation of Spain in a corpus of travel guides. Drawing on texts in English and their translations and/or adaptations into Italian and into Spanish,I adopt the Critical Genre Analysis perspective (Bhatia, 2004; 2012;2015) to focus on the relationship between the discursive construction on the destination, the discourse on the local language and use of the local language in the text. In the examples I look at how these discourse representations sometimes convey preconceived and stereotyped images of the Spanish culture and how seemi n gly exotizing lexical choices (connotative loanwords) in the texts in English and in Italian often serve the opposite pu rpose of reinforcing a conservative and domesticated image of Spain
