    Una de las significativas medidas realizadas por los Reyes Católicos fue la de usar un control político sobre la sociedad. Los cronistas reales; nombrados oficialmente, fueron los colaboradores de los que se sirvieron los monarcas para este fin, sus cronicas en las que narraban sus hazañas y las de sus antepasados fueron el medio historiográfico y propagandístico, cuya difusión se aceleró con el uso del nuevo invento:

    la imprenta.

    Estos cronistas reales fueron personas afines a los monarcas, cuyas obras y maneras de escribir condicionaron no sólo la historia escrita en ese momento, sino que también modificaron en cierta medida la Lengua, haciendo que el castellano adquiriese una superioridad lingüística frente al resto de las lenguas vernáculas peninsulares.

    Con los cronistas y las leyes al servicio de la política monárquica, se impulsaba en Castilla la memoria de la Historia oficial de la Corona y de sus representantes.

    One significant measure introduced by the ‘Reyes Catolicos` was the use of political control over society. They instructed the official royal chroniclers to spread stories about the Monarchs’ and their ancestors´ great feats as a historiographic propogranda drive, which was accelerated by the use of the recently invented printing press.

    These royal chronicles were sympathizers of the Monarchs whose works and writing styles influenced not only the written history at this time, but modified the language making Castillian more sophisticated than the vernacular of the peninsular.

    These chroniclers, along with the laws serving the monarchic policy, promoted the official line and history of the Monarchy and their representatives in Castilla.
