  • Resumen
    • The article concerns the graphic oeuvre of Tommaso Sandrini (Brescia, 1579/1580-1630), a "quadraturista" active in Brescia, Ferrara, Reggio Emilia and Padua. Focusing on a group of drawings in the Louvre, the author identifies preparatory sheets for the cycles frescoed by Sandrini in the Broletto in Brescia, in the churches of Santa Maria del Carmine and San Giovanni Evangelista (both also in Brescia), San Michele in Candiana (Province of Padua), and San Giorgio in Bagolino (Province of Brescia). The analysis of these drawings also reveals the painter's workshop practice and helps establish an improved chronology. The article concludes with a discussion of unconvincing attributions, and puts forward some news ones, identifying other Brescian drawings with "quadratura" studies in the same collection in the Louvre, hitherto relegated to anonymity.
