  • Some of the major Italian medievalists analyse the aspects of the work of Jacques Le Goff which most influenced the historiographical culture of our country. Franco Cardini traces a precise profile, also rich in personal memories, of the French historian and his thought; Giacomo Todeschini investigates the issue of economic development in the Middles Ages and theoretical reflection which it gave rise in the historiography of Jacques Le Goff; Roberto Lambertini examines the role that the Franciscan ideology took in Saint François d’Assise and in other essays by Le Goff; Pier Giorgio Sclippa finally cures the detailed Italian bibliography of the scientific contributions of the French master.
