  Uno de los objetivos del IV Concilio Provincial Mexicano era la reforma del clero regular en Nueva España, para ello solicitó una serie de informes a los superiores de las órdenes religiosas allí implantadas. En el artículo se presenta el informe remitido por la Orden de la Caridad de San Hipólito, con un breve estudio sobre ella que permite contextualizar la situación en la que se encontraban sus religiosos y hospitales en 1771.

  One of the targets of the IVth Mexican provincial Council was the reform of the regular clergy in New Spain; to that end, the council requested a series of reports to the superiors of the religious orders there settled down.
  
  This essay presents the report sent by the Order of the Charity of Saint Hippolytus, with a brief study of the order itself that allows contextualize the situation in which it’s religious and hospitals were in 1771.
