  .Este dossier aborda algunos aspectos innovadores relacionados con el proceso de construcción del estado en España entre los siglos XVII y XVIII. En primer lugar sobre las nuevas secretarías de despacho y su desarrollo no siempre lineal. Una idea que se repite en el caso del desarrollo de las reformas que tuvieron lugar en la Hacienda. Se analiza, por otra parte, el enorme mercado de beneficios para servir en América a finales del siglo XVII. Y, finalmente, las tensiones políticas entre la nobleza española y el gobierno de Felipe V en el momento crítico de las negociaciones de la Haya (1709) y Geertruidenberg (1710).

  This dossier tackles on some innovative aspects linked to the state formation process in Spain in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries. It focuses first on the development of the new Secretaries of the Despacho, showing how this development was far from a lineal and progressive path. A similar phenomenon is observed in the course of the reforms affecting the State Finances, the Hacienda, which are described in detail. The large ‘market’ on benefits and honours to serve in Spanish America at the end of the Seventeenth century is analysed as well. Finally, political tensions among the Spanish nobility and between this nobility and the new government of King Philip V are also given attention, specifically at the crucial moment of the negotiations at The Hague (1709) and Geertruidenberg (1710).
