Este estudio se propone analizar las representaciones visuales en los manuales escolares destinados a estudiantes de primer ciclo de escuelas primarias. Se pretende identificar las perspectivas acerca del género y la diferencia sexual que incorporan, así como problematizar los modos en que son representadas. Con el objetivo de realizar un primer acercamiento a la temática, se confeccionó una pequeña muestra de cuatro manuales suministrados por el Ministerio de Educación de la Nación, utilizados en institucionesde gestión pública. Se hace foco en las imágenes de los libros, los sentidos que expresan y sus interpretaciones; entendiéndolas como artefactos culturales que producen y reproducen normativas de género y sexualidad.

This study aims to analyze the visual representations in scholar textbooks which are destined to students at primary school. It pretends to identify the perspectives of gender and sexual difference that these books incorporate, and questions the ways they are represented. With the aim of making a first approach to the subject, a small sample of four manuals provided by the National Ministry of Education, used in public management institutions was prepared. The focus will be on the images of books, the meanings they express and their interpretations; understanding them as cultural artifacts that produce and reproduce gender and sexuality norms.
