    La seguridad social vive actualmente una situación financiera muy delicada. Por ello es más necesario que nunca hacer frente a distintas realidades que suponen una fuga de recursos para el sistema. Entre ellas se tratan en este trabajo la necesidad de modernizar la obsoleta regulación de la cotización en el RETA, en el que el obligado al pago continúa decidiendo su propia contribución al sistema. Así mismo también se hace referencia a la necesidad de revisar los beneficios a la cotización y se apuntan otros aspectos pendientes que suponen una carga financiera para la seguridad social.

    Social security is currently experiencing a very delicate financial situation. Therefore, it is more necessary than ever to face different realities that suppose a drain of resources for the system. Among them, the need to modernize the obsolete contribution regulation in the self-employed special scheme is discussed in this paper, a regulation in which the party obliged to pay continues to decide his own contribution to the system. Likewise, reference is also made to the need to review the contribution benefits and to face other pending aspects that suppose a financial burden for social security.
