Resumen de La investigación y la información estadística en turismo en España: hacia un sistema de conocimiento e inteligencia turística

  El presente trabajo analiza la investigación turística en España con el fin de desarrollar una doble propuesta de mejora:

  identificar puntos críticos susceptibles de mejora y sus soluciones para el futuro, y proponer la creación de un Sistema Nacional de Conocimiento e Inteligencia Turística. Tras analizar los organismos que desarrollan investigación turística, se describe la evolución de las tesis doctorales en turismo desarrolladas en España entre 1976 y 2016. Los resultados evidencian cinco fases en la evolución de tesis doctorales en turismo en España, con una evolución claramente ascendente.

  The present paper analyses tourism research in Spain with the objective of developing a double proposal for improvement:

  identifying the aspects susceptible to improve and the solutions for the future, and proposing the creation of a National System of Tourism Knowledge and Intelligence. After the analysis of tourism research, this paper is focused on the evolution of doctoral thesis in tourism defended in Spanish universities from 1976 to 2016. The results show five phases in the evolution of the defended PhD thesis in tourism in Spain, with a clearly ascending evolution.
