    Der Beitrag richtet den Fokus auf die Verbindung von Narration und Argumentation in Konfliktgesprächen. Aus gesprächsanalytischer Perspektive wird exemplarisch anhand von Konflikteröffnungen gezeigt, wie Erzählen das Argumentieren vorbereitet, d. h. von den Interagierenden zuerst erzählt werden muss, um dann auf dieser Basis zu argumentieren. Argumentieren und Erzählen werden als prozessual und interaktiv bestimmte Praktiken aufgefasst, deren Funktion sich kontextuell erschließt. Die Erzählungen zeichnen sich durch Knappheit sowie Fragmentiertheit aus und diese Gestaltungsweise wird von den argumentationsbezogenen Zielen bestimmt.

    This article investigates the interplay between narration and argumentation in conflict talks. A conversation-analytic approach was adopted to examine the opening sequences of conflict talks. It will be demonstrated that, in order to act persuasively, interlocuters use narration to prepare the ground for argumentation. Narration and argumentation are conceived of as process-based and interactively constituted practices whose function can be contextually explored. The findings show that the brevity and fragmentation identified for the narrative elements in the conflict talks are instrumental in achieving their argumentative purpose.
