  • Computers have come a long way in the 70 years since, but deep down they work in essentially the same way: by manipulating electrical charge. In the early days of digital computer, the route to bigger memory banks was simple: cram more bits into smaller space. Scaling that up to gigabyte capacity is now just a matter of time.
