    En este artículo analizamos las actividades de Arturo Pérez-Cabrero quien impulsó la creación de la Sociedad Arqueológica Ebusitana (SAE), y el Museo de esta entidad que con su donación al Estado en 1907 será el germen del Museo Arqueológico de Ibiza. Los trámites de esta cesión ante el Ministerio de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes los realizó su director, Juan Román y Calbet, quien a título personal propondrá la creación de la Fundación Protectora del Museo, comprometiéndose a que la Junta de Patronato pudiera incorporar definitivamente al museo su colección particular. Este compromiso no podrá ser cumplido, y a su muerte comenzará un pleito entre la Junta de Patronato y sus herederos, cuyo resultado será la incorporación de solo una parte de esta colección

    Analysis of Arturo Pérez-Cabrero’s activities who promoted the creation of the Archaeological Society Ebusitana (SAE), and the Museum of this entity, whose donation to the State in 1907 will be the germ of the Archaeological Museum of Ibiza. The procedures of this cession before the Ministry of Public Instruction and Fine Arts were made by its director, Juan Román y Calbet, who personally proposed the creation of the Protective Foundation of the Museum, pledging that the Board of Trustees could definitely incorporate to the museum its private collection. This commitment could not be fulfilled, and after his death a lawsuit will begin between the Board of Trustees and his heirs, whose result will be the incorporation of only a part of this collection.
