Resumen de Interacción entre las familias y la televisión.: El sentido que las familias otorgan a los referentes televisivos

El presente artículo se desprende de la investigación "Interacción entre las Familias y la Televisión. Un estudio en Aguascalientes”, y su objetivo es hacer un listado de los diversos sentidos que tiene la televisión para las audiencias. En él se muestra cómo los grupos familiares, en congruencia con sus valores y aspiraciones, otorgan ciertas funciones y posibilidades a la televisión, entendida ésta como un ente que propone significados que son negociados en familia. Así pues, este artículo pretende responder a la pregunta ¿qué es la televisión para las familias? y con ello reflexionar sobre la trascendencia que tiene esta tan odiada y amada institución que es la televisión.

This article is derived from the research "lnteraction between families and television. A case study in Aguascalientes", and its objective is to produce a list of the different meanings that television has for audiences. It shows how family groups; accordingly wi th their values and aspirations, assign certain functions and possibilities to television, which is understood as an entity that propases meanings that are negotiated by the family. Therefore, this article intends to answer the question: To the family, what is television?, and in this way reflect on the significance that television, the hated and loved institution has.
