O design na escola pública: Informações sobre a profissão

    This article intends to show the results of an experience of extension and the reflections about a training action in the youths’ formation, in three municipal districts schools, located in the municipal districts of Gravatá, Pesqueira and Arcoverde, in the state of Pernambuco.

    The pedagogic practice of theory and the practice was under Paulo Freire’s light. 45 young men worked with the demand of hand of work of the joineries and the manufacturing of pieces of furniture that use in their productive processes, wood, blocks and veneers.

    The project aims to divulge the Course of Design, of the State University of Pernambuco (SUPE), and the Ais Program (Academical Incentive Scholarship) that incentivate young boys that enter the university, showing the relevance of divulging the characteristics of the course and of the profession of designer, when they make their choice, at the moment of doing their inscription to do the test for entering University. They come the concrete results and the conclusions of the learning in the accomplishment of this action.

    Este artigo pretende mostrar os resultados de uma experiência de extensão, e as reflexões sobre uma ação de treinamento de formação de jovens, realizadas em 3 escolas públicas,de distritos municipais, Gravatá, Pesqueira e Arcoverde, estado de Pernambuco; a prática pedagógica da teoria e prática, à luz de Paulo Freire. 45 jovens participaram da demanda de mão de obra das marcenarias e de suas peças de artesanato de móveis, que usam, em seus processos produtivos, madeira, tijolos. O objetivo do projeto é divulgar o curso de Design, da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), e o programa BIA (Bolsa de Incentivo Acadêmico) o projeto que incentiva financeiramente jovens estudantes que ingressam na universidade, demonstrando a importância de divulgar as características do curso e da profissão de designer, na escolha do jovem, ao se inscrever para o teste, para ingressar na universidade.
