Resumen de Incidencia de los factores competitivos en la gestión de aguas y vertimientos de la curtiembres pedraza en el barrio San Benito: estudio de caso

  Las curtiembres en el barrio San Benito han pasado por muchas dificultades para funcionar; la problemática ambiental y la falta de competitividad son factores que afectaron el crecimiento y sostenibilidad de muchas empresas del sector. Para el cumplimiento de la normatividad ambiental, sumado a las presiones del mercado, algunas curtiembres buscaron acceder a una producción más limpia y sustentable por medio de nuevos procesos, acceso a tecnología, capacitación de los empleados, manejo de químicos amigables con el medio ambiente, etc., que favorecieran el uso eficiente del agua y generar una menor descarga contaminante en las fuentes hídricas, permitiendo a su vez obtener el permiso de vertimientos necesario para operar de manera legal. En este artículo se tiene por objetivo analizar las iniciativas de gestión de aguas y vertimientos además de contribuir en el aspecto ambiental, y se analiza cómo estas pueden incidir en la competitividad de las curtiembres; para este fin se hace una investigación en la Curtiembres Pedraza que cuentan con el permiso de vertimientos junto a otras que también lo tienen, donde se logra determinar tanto los beneficios como las desventajas que inciden en la creación de ventajas competitivas que propician el crecimiento de las empresas del sector.

  The tanneries in the San Benito neighborhood have gone through many difficulties to function, the environmental problems and the lack of competitiveness are factors that affected the growth and sustainability of many companies in the sector. To comply with the environmental regulations added to market pressures, some tanneries sought access to cleaner and more sustainable production through new processes, access to technology, training of employees, handling of environmentally friendly chemicals, etc., which favored the efficient use of water and generated a lower pollutant discharge in water sources, allowing in turn to obtain the wastewater discharge permit necessary to operate legally. This article aims to analyze how the initiatives of water and wastewater management besides contributing in the environmental aspect, can affect the competitiveness of tanneries, for this purpose an investigation is made in the Pedraza Tannery that has the wastewater discharge permit with others who also have it, where it is possible to determine both the benefits and the disadvantages that affect the creation of competitive advantages that favor the growth of companies in the sector.
