    El presente artículo es una reflexión sobre las implicaciones y los modos de conceptualizar la actual importancia del tiempo presente. Parte de la base de que se trata de un tema que se discute intensamente y que refleja cambios recientes a escala mundial. Realiza a continuación una reflexión sobre el concepto de historia del tiempo presente, a la que atribuye rasgos como el considerar el presente como un régimen temporal abierto tanto al pasado como al futuro y que posee duración. Y concluye con una reflexión sobre los rasgos del presente contemporáneo, al que llama presente histórico, y al que atribuye rasgos como su dimensión espacial mundial y sus orígenes cuando los problemas actuales asumieron por primera vez una fisionomía más o menos clara.

    This article examines the implications and ways of conceptualizing the current importance of the present. He regards this importance as a heating topic which is mirroring the world recent changes. Then it discusses a concept of the history of the present which would be characterized by the consideration of the present as a historical regime opened to the past and the future, and provided with duration. The article concludes studying the traits of the contemporary present, which the author calls it historical present, summarised in these aspects: its world dimension, on the one hand, and its origins associated with the capacity to contemplate the physiognomy of current problems in a more or less clear way, on the other.
