  • The article discusses artists who have adopted theatricality in visual art by breaking boundaries across artistic practices and reworking modern forms in dance and theater through mirroring, homage and reinvention. Daria Martin and Kelly Nipper expose the mechanics of performance in plays by Bertolt Brecht. She describes Geoffrey Farmer's sculptural installations as unstable units of assemblage-style objects highly evocative of situations of human interaction. Enrico David's "Bulbous Marauder" was inspired by a private sexual encounter.
