  • The article features artist Keith Sonnier, who was born in Mamou, Louisiana and who works and lives in New York City. Sonnier was among the first artists who used light as a sculptural material, combining incandescent light fixtures and neon tubes to explore light diffusion through materials and architectural space. Sonnier also explored the psychological impact of light and the structures of time, space and existence and created video works based on his installations.
