  • In this article the author discusses the paintings of German artist Gerhard Richter in light of the exhibition "Gerhard Richter: Panorama," curated by Nicholas Serota and Mark Godfrey, at the Tate Modern gallery in London, England from October 6, 2011 to January 8, 2012. The author examines the relationship between photography and painting in light of the thought of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, focusing on Richter's process of partially repainting photographs as part of the series "Atlas."
