The article examines the life and work of the Russian-born, American-based artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. Particular focus is given to the exhibition "The Study of Kabakov," which was held at the Edelman Arts gallery in New York City and profiled Ilya's work from 1960-1985. Additional topics include insights on the artists' childhood, how Ilya and Emilia collaborate and insights on their drawing technique.
