  • The article presents comments from the six co-artistic directors of the ninth edition of the Gwangju Biennale of art, held in Gwangju, South Korea from September 7 to November 11, 2012. Each director briefly discusses a sub-theme of the biennale. The theme of re-visiting history is discussed by Wassan Al-Khudhairi, the these of transient encounters is discussed by Mami Kataoka, and the theme of logging in and out of collectivity is discussed by Nancy Adajania. Comments by Alia Swastika, Sungjum Kim and Carol Yinghua Lu are also included.
