  • In this article, the author reflects upon soccer in Brazil. Particular focus is given to how soccer is depicted in Brazilian art, literature and poetry. Additional topics discussed include concrete poetry, the Brazilian soccer player Pele and the art series "Anatomy of the Goal," by the artist Antonio Lizárraga, accompanied by poems by Haroldo de Campos and Julio Plaza.
