  • The article described the realist techniques used by the Chinese artist Wang Xingwei in her series of old lady painting between 2010 and 2012. Wang reveals that the decision to focus on older women as a subject in painting was made because of a flyer he found announcing one of the courses for aspiring entrants to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, a decision to adopt the common folk of the "New Students Generation," and the possibilities for advanced expression.
