  • The article explores the art of American artist Martine Syms who has a solo exhibition "Fact & Trouble" at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, England until June 9, 2016. Topics include Syms' inquiries into representations of blackness, and black people, and specifically black women, her investigation of representation of race and gender, and her less interest in questions of the construction or deconstruction of image, stereotype or identity.
