The author reflects on the code of ethics in art criticism which led to an even wider debate particularly in New York. The author claims that the controversy sprang up when popular arts blogger Tyler Green posted an interview with The Village Voice art critic Christian Viveros-Faune in January 2008. Though the incident was resolved quickly, the author supposes that it should not be seen as an indication of how cut-and-dry it was.
