  • The article profiles painter Rudolf Stingel. Stingel produced two large gold-hued paintings with a subtle pattern repeated across the surface of the canvases for the 55th Carnegie International. According to Jorg Heiser, Stingel's paintings are like "permeable membranes" capable of recording traces of use. Stingel's creative style is discussed in the article.
