The article presents the views of Gerd Harry Lybke of Galerie Eigen + Art in Germany about the status of art fairs and auctions and their effect on individual galleries. According to Lybke, art fairs are instrument to support the typical concerns of artists. He believes that art auctions are excluded in the instruments the gallery uses because they serve a market that works contradictory to its market sector.
