The article presents the views of Ellen de Bruijne of the gallery Ellen De Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam, Netherlands about the status of art fairs and auctions and their effect on individual galleries. According to de Bruijne, she defines the art fair as risky survival and painful success. She believes in the importance of working for the money when managing a gallery-business. She thinks that the art fair is still a way to the gallery and reach more people.
