  • The article presents the views of Christian Meyer and Renate Kainer of Galerie Meyer Kainer in Vienna, Austria about the status of art fairs and auctions and their effect on individual galleries. According to Meyer and Kainer, their gallery has always been geared more toward gallery shows rather than toward art fair participation. They believe that global fairs will not disappear because they are the logical substrate of a market economy based on media dependency and finance.
