This paper presents the results of the archaeological study conducted on the outside of the Zambrana-Herrán Palace. The intervention focused on the eastern part of the site, currently occupied by the kitchen gardens, and aimed to determine whether or not structures existed in the subsoil and to analyse the constructive characteristics of a wall located at the easternmost end of the palace. The results obtained enabled us to establish a constructive sequence which begins with the building of the palace in 1695, and continues with the construction of the outer wall during the early 18th century. This wall was then later extended on two occasions during that same century. Finally, a series of changes were also recorded, dating from the second two thirds of the 19th century and the whole of the 20th century.
