El trabajo presenta un análisis de la cobertura informativa que realizaron los noticieros de televisión de Monterrey, México, sobre la contienda electoral y la percepción del público sobre el mencionado evento. En el estudio se recurre a las técnicas de análisis de contenido y encuesta y se toma como referente las teorías de la AgendaSettingy del Priming. En el trabajo se concluye que a pesar de la mala cobertura periodística que realizaron los noticieros de televisión analizados las personas consideran que ésta fue buena, llegando a calificar como el mejor noticiero al que presentó la menor cantidad de notas y dedicó menor tiempo a la contienda.
The next paper presents an analysis of the media coverage made by the TV news programs in Monterrey, Mexico, about the coming elections and what was the audience’s perception of that coverage. The study uses content analysis techniques and surveys, and takes as reference Agenda Setting and Priming Theories. The document reveals that despite the bad media coverage realized by the TV news programs analyzed, people considered it as good, qualifying as the best news program the one that presented the lowest quantity of information and time dedicated to the elections.
