Resumen de Características y nuevos retos en la estimulación cognitiva domiciliaria

El trabajo en el ámbito de las demencias en los últimos años y las tendencias socio-económicas actuales que nos rodean, nos invitan a plantear nuevas formas de intervención en este colectivo. En este sentido, la estimulación cognitiva fundamentada en el domicilio y el propio entorno constituye una alternativa atractiva, pues posibilita que el paciente reciba una atención socio-sanitaria personalizada y mantener un estímulo afectivo-social en un ambiente conocido y seguro, el propio domicilio.
En este trabajo se abordará cuales son las características y los retos que nos tenemos que plantear al definir el papel de tres pilares fundamentales en la evolución del paciente con demencia: la familia, el entorno y el tipo de intervención.

Working with dementia in recent years and current socio-economic trends that surroundus, invite us to consider new ways of intervention in this population. In this regard, based cognitive stimulation at home and the environment itself, is an attractive alternative, as it allows the patient to receive a personalized health and social care in addition to maintain the affective-social stimuli in a familiar and safe environment, the home itself.
The characterization of this type of intervention means that we consider new challenges, resulting in defining the role of three key areas in the evolution of patients with dementia: the family, the environment and the type of intervention.
