  • Geddes talks about the Virtual Physiological Human, an initiative backed by the European Union. The Virtual Physiological Human initiative sprang from a 2005 summit at which European researchers from many different areas of bioengineering physiology and clinical medicine agreed that a common pattern was emerging. Trying to tackle diseases by breaking them down into smaller parts and then looking at each one individually was no longer working.
