    El artículo se presenta con el fin de encontrar, a través del análisis iconográfico e iconológico de las pinturas del siglo XVIII español y europeo, las similitudes y diferencias entre los juegos deportivos de la infancia y la adultez. Para ello, ha sido necesaria la localización y análisis de aquellas obras vinculadas al juego con la pretensión de hacer entender que el arte puede aportar un conocimiento de capital importancia a la hora de conocer las manifestaciones recreativas de la cultura occidental y de la proyección social que tuvo para las personas de su tiempo.

    The article is presented in order to find, through the iconographic and iconological analysis of eighteenth - century Spanish and European paintings, the similarities and differences between the sports games of childhood and adulthood. For this, it has been necessary to locate and analyze those works linked to the game with the pretension to make it understood that art can contribute a knowledge of capital importance when it comes to knowing the recreational manifestations of Western culture and the social projection that Had for the people of his time.
