The focus of this study is to establish and quantify the factors and variables that are influencing the sanitary cost of the Canary Islands region, derived from the fragmentation and ultra-peripheral conditions of the territory, which must be structurally included in the NHS financing system. Likewise, a financing model for the Management Office of the Canarian Health Service is proposed which recognizes the specific casuistry of the region and gives higher equity in the resources distribution.
