  • This paper provides both a theoretical view of the pertinence of considering traditionell sociolinguistics categories äs a means for better understanding natural sign languages and updated Information about pedagogical implications within deaf communities in Argentina and Uruguay, users of the lengua de senas argentinas (LSA, Argentinian sign language) and of the lengua de senas Uruguay a (LSU, Uruguayan sign language), respectively.

    A general view of similarities and differences between the two situations considered äs a conflictive linguistic contact process is offered.
