  • The Estonian linguistic enclaves in Siberia consist ofolder settlements that date from the nineteenth Century and younger ones dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A considerable number of Estonian villages have survived until today. The population of the older settlements mostly consists of representatives ofthefourth orfifth resettler generations, while the younger villages are inhabitedby the second and third generations.
