In the year 1795, Fichte and Schiller begin a controversial exchange of letters that can be understood as the genesis of the investigation about the philosophical writing. Schiller had rejected an article presented by Fichte, also a member of Die Horen magazine, for his hard, rigid and difficult to understand form. The argument is based on the proposal to try to unite the beauty of poetic writing with the search for the expression of truth, commonly found in the concepts of philosophy. Schiller intended to use beauty to develop a more sensible way of presenting and making better understand the ideas of philosophy. Fichte, who had already replayed the epistolary style of letters for Schiller's aesthetic education, began to list the arguments for a rigid, precise, and not poetic style. From then on, writing can be investigated as a legitimate philosophical problem in the light of poetry, science and culture, and the debate around this theme fostered by Schiller as a prelude to his project of an aesthetic education of humanity.

No ano de 1795, Fichte e Schiller iniciam uma polêmica troca de cartas que pode ser entendida como a gênese da investigação acerca da escrita filosófica. Schiller recusara um artigo apresentado por Fichte, também membro da revista Die Horen, por sua forma dura, rígida e de difícil compreensão. O argumento se baseia na proposta de tentar unir a beleza da escrita poética à busca da expressão da verdade, comumente encontrada nos conceitos da filosofia. Schiller pretendia usar a beleza para desenvolver uma forma mais sensível de apresentar e fazer compreender melhor as ideias da filosofia. Fichte, que já retrucara o estilo epistolar das cartas para a educação estética de Schiller, pôs-se a elencar os argumentos para defender um estilo rígido, preciso e nada poético. A partir de então, a escrita pode ser investigada como um legítimo problema filosófico à luz da poesia, da ciência e da cultura, e, o debate em torno deste tema fomentado por Schiller, como um prelúdio ao seu projeto de uma educação estética da humanidade.
