    The aim of our article is to compare the motif of death and its manifestations in the lyrical works of the Belarusian writer Michas Stralcou and the Spanish poet Angel Gonzalez. Said authors have been chosen because they represent the Belarusian “philological generation”, also known as the generation of “children of war”, and the Spanish “generation of 1950” Thus, the object of our investigation are the poetic works  of M. Stralcou and A. Gonzalez, and his subject, in turn, is the analysis of the motif of death in their works. We made our goal to realise a comparative analysis of said motif based on chosen poetic works by both authors; to find their main similarities and differences in their perception of the motif of death in the texts of each of the two poets. In order to complete our research, we analysed eight poetic works by M. Stralcou, which belong to his first anthology Ядлоўцавы куст (Minsk, 1973). In addition, we translated into the Belarusian language, then analyzed seven poems by A. Gonzalez, which belong to two of his anthologies: Palabra sobre palabra (Barcelona, ​​1986) and Otoño y otras luces (Barcelona, ​​2001). The results we obtained helped us in the identification and description of the motif of death in the poetry of M. Stralcou and M.ºGonzalez, and this will give us the opportunity to further analyse this motif in the literature of Spain and Belarus in the second half of the twentieth century, as well as to extend our research to other motifs, genres, eras and national literatures. This can open new perspectives not only for Belarusian, but also for Spanish comparative literature studies.

    Мэтай нашай працы з’яўляецца параўнанне матыву смерці і яго праявы ў лірыцы беларускага літаратара Міхася Стральцова і іспанскага паэта Анхела Гансалеса. Аўтары былі выбраныя намі з тае прычыны, што яны ўвасабляюць сабою беларускае пакаленне “дзяцей вайны” і іспанскае “пакаленне 1950-а года”. Такім чынам, аб’ектам рэферату з’яўляецца паэтычная творчасць М. Стральцова і А. Гансалеса, а яго прадметам, у сваю чаргу, – вывучэнне матыву смерці ў іх творчасці. Мы ставім перад сабою мэту правесці параўнальны аналіз дадзенага матыву на аснове вершаваных твораў абодвух аўтараў, знайсці ў тэкстах галоўныя падабенствы і адрозненні ва ўспрыманні тэмы смерці кожным з двух паэтаў.  Дзеля рэалізавання дадзенага артыкула, мы прааналізавалі восем вершаваных твораў М. Стральцова са зборніка Ядлоўцавы куст (Мінск, 1973). Да таго пераклалі на беларускую мову і прааналізавалі сем вершаў А. Гансалеса, якія належаць да двух яго зворнікаў: Palabra sobre palabra (Барселона, 1986) і Otoño y otras luces (Барселона, 2001) Атрыманыя вынікі пра асаблівасці выяўлення матыву смерці ў паэзіі М. Стральцова і М. Гансалеса дасць нам магчымасць аналізаваць у будучыні дадзены матыў у літаратуры Іспаніі і Беларусі другой паловы ХХ ст., а гэтаксама пашырыць нашае даследванне да іншых матываў, жанраў, эпох і літаратур, што можа адкрыць новыя перспектывы не толькі для беларускага, а таксама для іспанскага параўнальнага літаратуразнаўства.
