The authors reflect on research which the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has conducted over the course of many years with the U.S. Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to ensure that the administration is helping all U.S. veterans achieve the best possible outcomes. They suggest that research in the VHA has accomplished much but work needs to continue. They argue that as a result of several partnerships the VA and VHA are making strides to prevent health disparities.
