    • The author reflects on the water infrastructure and lead poisoning in Flint, Michigan, how the incident offers a chance to rethink what is meant by critical infrastructure, and environmental justice concerning drinking water in the U.S. He states water and wastewater are critical infrastructure assigned to the Environmental Protection Agency and mentions public health principles in regards to infrastructure and water sources. He considers infrastructure decay in Flint and other poor communities.
