  • Resumen
    • The article discusses research conducted to investigate the safety of aspiration abortion performed in California by nurse practitioners, nurse midwives and physician assistants. Researchers evaluated 16,998 women who received first trimester abortions from the health professionals and compared them with abortion services provided by physicians. They found that the complication rates from the abortions provided by allied personnel were low and that the provided abortions were safe.
