Resumen de Emerging Hispanic Health Paradoxes.

Felipe González Castro

  • In this article the author reflects on a 1986 article by K. S. Markides and J. Coreil which discussed the Hispanic health paradox, which is concerned with the fact that despite having a disadvantaged socioeconomic status, Southwestern Hispanics of Mexican heritage exhibited rates of physical and mental health similar to their more advantaged non-Hispanic White peers. A discussion of four reports which are contained within the issue and are concerned with the Hispanic health paradox is presented.
