  • The author reflects on the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Surgeon General's report on smoking and health as of January 2014 and the its effect on tobacco use in the U.S. Topics include the remedial actions by public health officials including cigarette tax increases, smoke-free environments, anti-smoking media campaigns, and the development of smoking cessation treatments.
