The author reflects on a lack of social and health equity which racial and sexual minorities in the U.S. face. She suggests that while research has been conducted to better understand the effects that racism and heterosexism have on health, much more needs to be done to protect the rights and health of all people. She argues that the efforts to pursue health and social equity for all people need to remain steadfast.
