    • The authors discuss what they refer to as the American public's preference for safer firearms (guns) as of 2016, and it mentions statistics regarding gun violence, suicides, and homicides in the U.S. According to the article, more than 500 people died as as result of unintentional shootings in America in 2013. Handgun personalization is examined in relation to radio frequency identification and biometric recognition technologies such as fingerprint readers. Childproof firearms are assessed.
