    • In the article, the authors discuss the national opioid epidemic in the U.S. as of mid-2016 and its adverse health effects. Also examined are the link between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) pain management satisfaction survey and opioid use, and the adverse effects of opioid use like increased deaths and HIV outbreak as seen in Indiana.
