Resumen
From the perspective of academic research, citizen realm and art practice connections, the article presents “Social Dialogue. Polyphony of the world of industry” as an artistic sight to the industrial sector that facilitates the nexus between the university and the public sphere. The project starts with fragments of interviews carried out by the sociologist Mona Aranea. The artistic collective Econodos translates them in the form of a sound installation opening up possibilities for subjective interpretation. The result amplifies the words of trade union representatives, workers and managers in the field of metallurgy whose testimonies cover the policies of work and those of material objects and energy. Taking this experience as example, it points out the importance of collaborative artistic practices as an alternative to the modernist idea of science as absolute truth and of art as a privileged vision of the avant-garde.
