Resumen de A volta da tradição manuscrita das cantigas de Martim Codax

António Resende de Oliveira

  • The trajectory of the manuscript tradition of Galician-Portuguese troubadour poetry, after Carolina de Michaëlis’ reflections at the beginning of the 20th century, changed course in the 1960s as the work of Martim Codax was included in it throughout the second half of the 20th century. In the 1990s, new research resulted in the clarification of its internal structure and in the identification, within the cancioneiros or song books from the 16th century, of individual and collective cancioneiros, socially ordered anthologies or simple individual collections scattered throughout the cancioneiros, especially towards the end of their different sections. The present chapter tries to include the results of research on the manuscript tradition of the cantigas, at the same time as it offers a review of the trajectory followed by the inclusion of Martim Codax’s work in the collective cancioneiros.
